Rod Works has become my arch nemesis since buying a home! I decided I need a part time job there just to support my addiction! They have these new layering fixtures and I am absolutely in love! I created this AMAZING collage using them and I LOVE it! It turned out perfect in our living room! Just don't mind all of the creepy children in the frames... Blake and I decided we need to get our pictures done so if anyone knows of an amazing photographer who is reasonably priced let us know!

Well Blake sold his truck out of nowhere so now we are the proud owners of a SUV.. a Mercury Mariner! We love it... other than it rides like a cadillac and speeding in it is a problem... just ask Blake haha :)

Proud Homeowners!

Blake and I are now proud homeowners! We closed Wednesday, got our keys Thursday, and moved in Friday. We absolutely LOVE it! We will post more pics soon but just wanted to share these ones and say THANK YOU to everyone who made it possible and helped us to get our house! Thank you Britani for being such a great agent and dealing with our indecisiveness haha!

This is us after moving for SEVEN hours on Friday and as you can tell we were pooped!
We really want to thank our family for spending Friday night helping us and a HUGE thanks to Seth and Nicole for being our only friends who showed up to help and not only did you help so much but you even brought your trailer for us to use! Thank you guys so much for being such great friends we really do appreciate and love you guys! You turned days of moving into just a few hours! We really can't tell you how much it meant to us that you guys showed up and how much you helped move stuff and help me get some what organized! Thanks again to our family for all your love, help, and support we love you!

Once we get a little more organized we will post pics of the inside! And I will post all of my posts I have started throughout the summer!

Feels Good to Be a Nurse

I recently had the nicest patient ever! It made me miss long term care because after discharge I will never see the patient again. Long story short my patient left their phone charger in their hospital room and since I was going to be going right by their house I told them I could just bring it up to them. Well when I go there they gave me an envelope. I took it graciously because I did not want to be rude and I figured it was a note saying thank you! Well... when I opened it when I got back to the car I found a $25 Mastercard Gift Card and the sweetest note! Let me tell you how good this made me feel but also horrible because it was very unnecessary of them to do that. I feel like I might actually be a good nurse now and let me tell you how glad I am to be working at Mt. View Hospital! I absolutely LOVE it!

Brity and Levi were married on 7/7/11! The wedding and reception turned out to be absolutely beautiful! Even after all the stress that day haha! One for One

Can I just tell you I am obsessed with TOMS. I used to despise them and I thought they were so ugly.. but I always thought the sparkle ones were a little cute! Well for my birthday I bought myself some black sparkle TOMS (thanks Granny and Gramps).

I justify paying an outrageous amount of money with the thought that they really do give a pair to a child in need! I mean look at these kids.. they totally make a pair of shoes worth $60.. right?

So, last night while I couldn't sleep (due to working graveyards) and Blake was sound asleep next to me (which can I just share that it was amazing to sleep in the same bad as him.. the last time was last Monday!)... I bought the white sparkle TOMS online.. with a $5 off coupon code! However I just noticed something while I was posting a picture of them... the soles are off white which may bug me and I may be sending them back for the white canvas ones! But the blue stiching on the white canvas will probably drive me crazy too because I would only wear blue shirts with them.. I am a very matchy kind of person.. before I wore Jesus Jammies as Tessa likes to call my G's.. I had to match my underwear to my shirt haha, ridiculous I know!

I am still searching for a pair of black or natural crochet classics in a size 7 so if anyone sees one feel free to pick it up and I will pay you!

Brity's Bridal Shower

So we had a bridal shower for Brity.. my little sister on Saturday! It was a huge success! I wanted it to turn out so cute and it did! We had a candy bar and delicious food and a weiner cake! Which Granny found quite humerous! Brit got lots of cleaning supplies and promised to come clean my house when we get it haha! She also got lots of naughty things from Tiph, Me, and Beej! She also got lots of great house stuff and even an electric grill since their apartments do not allow real ones! It was an amazing shower and I am so excited for her wedding in a few weeks. And I am excited to have levi as a brother in law he is such a sweetheart to britani and they are just so cute together!

This past weekend we were able to go to our friend Jentry's wedding! It was wonderful weather and the wedding was beautiful! Jentry and Amanda got married in Manti and it was just great to be back in Sanpete... we miss it tons! We went to Millers for lunch with Landon and Kayla and 2 little kids bought the last two delicious glazed doughnuts and I was ticked! Their reception was in Midway and it was super nice and a lot of fun! Blake was a groomsman so we were there the entire time but once all of our friends got there it was a blast! I will upload a few photos I snapped because I actually remembered my camera for once... too bad it died quickly! But you will have to come back to see them...

Sunday we had a picnic in the park with Blake's family, then we went up to the Rez and did a little fishing! Here are our fishing results:

The Hangover ... Salt Lake

For Britani's Bachlorette Party her cute friends threw a Hangover themed party, first we went to a pole dancing class and it was a blast and I was so sore ... like more sore than I have ever been! Then they had a hotel suite downtown decorated in hangover theme and it was so cute! We then went to a club which was ironically playing the hangover on the big screen haha. Heidi and I went home very early ... the club was not that fun being old and married haha!

I AM 25!! Oh how I feel old! For my birthday weekend.. aka Memorial Day we went camping at Scofield Friday night with Landon, Kayla, Nicole, Colby, TJ, and Shelby! It was a blast and I wish we would have stayed all weekend. Kayla is awesome and got me a delicious birthday cake! On Saturday we went to Texas Roadhouse fpr dinner with my fam.. luckily the Taylorsville one doesn't make you sit on the saddle! haha Blake ordered me a cute quarter cake that was delicious! We were going to go to Wendover but decided to go to The Hangover 2 with Brit and Beej because it was rainy and late.. but we have a raincheck to go Friday night for mine and Beej's birthdays and I must say the $5 chip Beej gave me is burning a hole in my wallet I need to go put it on 16 so I can win some big money haha! The Hangover was hilarious I liked it a lot, we paid $11 to see it on the XD screen, only because the normal one was full and we didn't want front row seats haha! It was awesome and I plan to see the last Harry Potter there! Sunday we slept in and hung out at my mom and dad's house, then we went to Frank's to celebrate Grandma Ruth's 85th Birthday! I look up to that lady so much and just adore her I am glade we were able to be there! We also had more delicous cake! WE drove to Saratoga with Bill and Linda to look at some homes Bill has done the loan on.. and I must say I am more in love with the house plan we have been wanting! It is AMAZING! Monday I slept in while Blake planted Grandma's new trees that she got for her birthday and moved some cows or something. Then we went to the mall where I bought some shorts (hopefully summer will come so I can wear them) and a pair of black sparkle Toms! I must say I am in love! They are so comfy and quite cute! Now I want a pair of the new crochet ones! Afterwards we went and visited graves and looked at lots for our future house! Elk Ridge is feeling more right everyday! Everytime I drive by the turn on my way to work I wish I was turning up the road to go to a house up there! Work is going great I am absolutely loving Payson.. I hope to get something more permanent.. but they have been pretty slow so we will see! I am still at Provo also and I still like it especially when I get to work on the newly remodeled units! Thats all I know for now!

5.24 Graduations and Birthdays!

May 24th was a busy day!
It was Caidence's 1st birthday! We celebrated Sunday! Caido is getting so big and she has started taking her first steps! Which Blake and I bought her Squeaky shoes for her birthday and she is so cute and stomps to get them to squeak! It was also Leslie's high school graduation and 18th birthday! I am so grateful that I called off work so I could go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse afterwards, We are so proud of LaLa! I can't wait for her to be at Snow and on Badgerettes so that I have an excuse to go to E-town!

Two Years.. My How Time Flys!

Can you believe we have been married for 2 years on the 16th.. because we can't! For our anniversary we both took the weekend off and we were going to go on a road trip to Phoenix for some Peter Piper Pizza! Well we ended up staying home.. but it was wonderful having 4 days off to spend together! Friday we ran errands that we can't do because Blake works all day and I work all night! We went to the bank to get an idea of what we can afford as far as a house goes and we drove around and looked at some possible lots in Spanish, Salem, and Elk Ridge! Friday night we had a campfire in Jeremy's backyard which was so fun because I feel like I haven't seen our friends in ages! Saturday I decided to be a nice supportive wife and Blake went and roped at the Wrangler roping in Farmington while I ran wedding errands with Britani! Well Blake ended up 3rd and won an awesome jacket and $$! (He tied for 2nd.. but ended up 3rd)! Anyway when I talked to him on the phone I asked should I be happy or mad?? and he said I would be mad.. so I assumed he lost! Well we were going to dinner with Brity and Levi when he put on his jacket he won and I was so confused and got so mad at him for not telling me! Sunday we spent the day at my mom and dads. Monday was our actual anniversary and we just hung out around the house and did some much needed cleaning, went to walmart then went to the Riverwoods in Provo shopped a little bit and went to Mawali Pizza.. not very fancy but I must say I have a new favorite pizza place. It is kind of like a Noodles and Company but with pizza and pasta. It is delicious and not as greasy as most pizzas. After that we went to Bill and Lindas for a bit then went home and watched a movie! Pretty laid back but much needed quality time together!

Movin' on Up

So if I haven't already told you... I GOT A NEW JOB! I am now working on the Orthopedic Floor at Mountain View Hospital in Payson! And I love it! I have already learned so much and I know I still have a lot more to learn. I am still working at Provo Rehab so all that free time I spoke of earlier is now non-existing haha! I work about 5-6 12 hour shifts per week which is killing me but I am training full time at Payson and trying to keep my hours at Provo. As soon as I am done training I will only be PRN (as needed) at Payson and will hopefully keep hours at Provo! I am hoping it will turn in to something a little more stable with benefits! Especially since Blake and I are looking into building a new house! (More on that at a later time haha)

Did you hear I finally GRADUATED!?!

Yeah and just a shade under a decade too... ALRIGHT!
Alot of people go to college for seven years
... I know they're called doctors!
HaHa Thank you Tommy Boy for making me feel bad for being in college for 7 years before graduating haha! But I will be honest I never thought I would see the day! haha! I am finally done with the nursing program and now have my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing! I can't believe that I am done with school... what am I going to do with my spare time? No homework, no studying, WEIRD, especially for me... a lifetime student who has spent countless hours over the past 7 years studying and even more so over the past 4!

It was great being able to share graduation with my little sister! Yes the one who is 3 years younger then me also grauated with a Bachelor's degree.. which makes me look even more pathetic and to top it off she graduated Summa Cum Laude (Gold Medal) while I was only Magna Cum Laude (Silver Medal)! I am so glad my family was able to come and that Gramps and Granny came down the night before and we were able to go out to the delicious Texas Roadhouse!

I am so grateful for my grandparents and all they have done for me and how they made it possible for me to go to college. If it weren't for them I would be drowning in student loan debt and maybe not even be where I am today! So thank you Granny and Gramps for everything.. I appreciate it more then you will ever know!

To celebrate we had a BBQ at my moms house and it was quite the hit.. only it rained so it was more of an indoor party! Here are a few pics.. I could not find my camera so I am having to collect pictures from everyone else so hopefully I will get them all soon!

I have some free time on my hands and feel very odd on Sundays not doing homework.. don't get me wrong it is a wonderful feeling and I am sure I will be getting used to it! Until then I have taken on a new hobbie... sewing! I bought a sewing machine when I graduated from high school and needless to say my mama uses it a lot mor than I... but, since I am done with school I have decided to work on my sewing skills. Which by the way are non existent and Blake.. yes you read correctly Blake can sew a straighter line than I. But, I am proud to say I made this adorable picnic blanket! Thank you Gracie Lous for the Tuesday Tutorial and the adorable fabric! Ok so I lied I almost made the entire thing without Tawnya's help... she hemed the edges because I didn't want to mess it up after I did so well on the rest of it! I mean I even got the majority of my corners to line up!

I have been through a lot with this group of wonderful nurses and I am going to miss them all, especially our fun parties and lunch dates!

King George and My Favorite Reba

So my lucky father won tickets to George and Reba off the radio and Britani and I were lucky and got to use them! That is for a small price of $40.. what a mean dad huh, He told us he won them but would never show us the actual tickets so we didn't really believe him! then a few days before the concert I said "Dad... if you really have those tickets I want them so Blake and I can go" and of course Britani had told him the same about her and Levi. Well he then told us he would sale them to whoever would pay more so Britani and I out smarted him and decided to leave the boys home and we would just go that way it was fair and cheaper! It was totally worth the $40 because they were row 7 in the lower bowl and I must say the best seats I have ever had and could have ever imagined! Brit and I had a great time especially rubbing it in to Blake how great it was and to TJ who was in the nosebleeds! The night was great fun and full of many laughs from us getting an amazing parking spot to me being a jerk getting out of the parking lot and then realizing my car was on empty as we drove through the ghetto in a blizzard but I am glad to say we made it home without running out of gas! I had so much fun at the concert. I have loved Reba since I was a little girl and my mom and aunt Teri would listen to her I probably had 5 of her CDs at least and I was glad she sang a few oldies that I love! I have always liked George Strait but since marrying Blake I have become a huge fan and love him and every song he sings! The best part was sending Blake videos of his favorite songs like "I can still make Cheyenne" and making him even more jealous that I was there and he wasn't! But to plead my case he went to George in Vegas with TJ a couple years ago after breaking my heart so I really don't feel bad haha!

Viva Las Vegas

So in addition to the suprise party we decided to take a little mini vacation for Blake's birthday especially since we no longer go on fun spring break trips to Vegas/Havasu/Arizona/Cali/Mexico with our friends! We didn't really know where we were going or if we were really going anywhere. But... we both had time off work and I had little homework to worry about (well that is a lie I had more then enough homework to worry about but didn't want to) so we decided that St. George would be fun but after looking at room prices we soon changed our minds and I said well Vegas is not that much further lets just go there. Well... Blake's awesome Uncle Frank has a second house/condo in Summerlin so being the frugal person I am since marrying Blake I suggested asking if we could stay there. Well like I said Frank is awesome and agreed to let us crash at his place. And it was absolutely wonderful! At first we had the intentions of going to a show but after losing some money on the darn roulette table and realizing how nice it was to just relax and enjoy each others company we decided to have a pretty low key vacay. We sat by the pool in the morning (the Nevada natives probably thought we were insane because it was chilly.. make that cold), shopped a little, visited our favorite off the strip hotel South Point and our new favorite Red Rock (which I am bummed we have never gone there during the NFR since it is located remotely close to Frank's place), went to dinner, ate our recent favorite Coldstone creation, hot tubbed, watched March Madness and a Red Box, and were asleep before 10 pm! Lame we know but for some reason everytime we go to Sin City we are ready for bed by 9! Maybe it is the old age haha! On the way home Blake was determined to win back our losses so we stopped at the Virgin River where I was definitely successful at doing just that!

Blake's 26th Birthday

For Blake's birthday I had to get him back for all of his wonderful suprises on my birthday last year so... I planned a suprise dinner at Ruby River, had the CUTEST team roper cake made, ordered the CUTEST cowboy themed balloons, of course spoiled him rotten and wrapped his presents in the cutest western wrapping paper that Linda bought at the NFR! Blake is almost as hard to suprise as me so I totally made up a "fake" work dinner, I even printed a flyer that said Provo Rehab Nurse Appreciation Dinner blah blah blah. My wonderful mom and lil sis helped out so much in pulling off the suprise. My mom picked up the cake and got the balloons filled (just the 2 mylar balloons I ordered off the internet cost $16 with shipping haha not to mention the adorable latex balloons and helium haha). Britani brought the cake and balloons to Ruby River and got everything set up. The staff at Ruby River was wonderful and so helpful, I called and had them put the party under beck and provo rehab so that when we walked in I could say we were there for my "work party" they also hid the awesome cake until after dinner! Well I thought for sure that Blake knew what was going and his friend Jake called him and I thought for sure the secret was out (which I got mad at Jake for haha.. but he really didn't say a thing about the dinner but I was a little worried so I stole Blake's phone and hid it in my purse). Well, when Blake got home from work he was ready to go and wanted to leave an hour before anyone was supposed to be there. I could have died.. BLAKE IS NEVER ON TIME TO ANYTHING and I had no idea what to do so I made up a lie that I had to go to Kohls and pick up some heels for Brit for her wedding.. luckily Kohls really had the shoes and I was able to get them haha! Well I took my sweet time getting there and Brit was giving me updates on who was there... which really made Blake mad because I was texting the entire time I was with him haha! Well we walked in and Blake saw a few of his friends through the window and he later told me his inital reaction was that he was mad that his friends went out without him. Then after we walked in the room and he realized it was a party for him not the awesome nurses at Provo Rehab he was mad that he was not getting a free dinner (Typical tight wad that he is haha). Well it was a huge success and I want to thank everyone who made it possible and to those of you who came and helped keep it a secret! We love our friends and all of te fun things we get to do together!

Spring Fever... Just Slightly

I don't know about any of you but this 50 degree weather is making my Spring fever even worse! I have really enjoyed sitting in the yard playing fetch with Bentlee this week and soaking up the sun while listening to "springtime" music! The only thing that could make it better would be a Snoasis! I am so ready to be done with school and my motivation is diminishing more every day! I can't wait... only 7 more weeks plus finals and I will be done with school FOREVER (well for now haha)! I have really been wanting to plan a trip somewhere warm, sunny, and with a beach for right after graduation but have failed to do that.. Hawaii is calling my name!

New Years Eve

Welcome 2011! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us! I did not make any new years resolutions because I know I will break them haha! On New Years Eve we had a get together at the Leifson Cabin! We had a great turn out despite a conflict that put me in a bad mood about the whole thing! But we had a great time, did some sledding, ate pizza, the guys played poker, and us girls chatted and played games like Mad Gab! It was so much fun and I enjoyed every second of it! I loved bringing in the new year with my best friends and my little sister who is one of my best friends! Thank you to all of you who came it was a blast! And to those of you who didn't... you missed out!

Christmas 2010

We had a fabulous Christmas!
We had a friend party at the Jarvis Home! It was great we got this snuggie which was awesome but Landon and Kayla stole it (Jerks... haha).
We went to my parent's on Christmas Eve where we had dinner, opened gifts, and played a game where everyone brought an ornament and we fought over them it was great! My favorite one was the blue balls we brought and Mike got, there couldn't have been a more perfect person to get them! It was a good time! We had to be home early because I worked early Christmas morning it was rotten... but at least it was only 6 hours! After I got home we went to Blake's parents where we opened gifts and talked to TJ (his brother on a mish). After we went to the Beck party it was great! Then we visited Grandma Ruth! The only thing that would have made it better would have been seeing my grandparents!

We got some GREAT gifts: a new tv (the one we got on black friday), new smart phones, a new band for my wedding ring, clothes, tv trays, boots, my wedding dress perserved, pans, knives, and lots more! It was an amazing Christmas!

Winter Break and New Job!

World Series of Team Roping Finale & National Finals

Well we went to Vegas for the WSTR Finale and The NFR. Blake had the chance to win $100,000... needless to say he didn't but it was sure fun and I hope we go again next year! We stayed at South Point since that's where Blake's horse stayed haha... it was great and very convenient for him to feed and all that plus we could watch the WSTR runs on the tv while we got ready so we didn't have to go down to the arena at the butt crack of dawn haha! I lost too much money gambling on the roulette table but luckily Blake won it all back on the blackjack table Saturday morning. We saw Harry Potter and loved it (yes we went to a movie in Vegas because we were sick of losing money). Saturday night we stayed at Frank and Maureen's it was a blast we had pizza and watched the last night of the NFR! Here

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

This year we had two Thanksgiving dinners! First we went to Grandma Beck's then my mom's. They were both delicious! After dinner at my mom's we went bowling (a tradition we started last year) it was a blast Tessa bowled and she was so cute and we also spent a lot of time in the arcade and the photo booth (I will have to scan in these pics sometime). On our way home we wanted to stop by Walmart and just check out the deals. We were going to try and get barbie jeeps at midnight but they didn't have them grr. Well we ended up staying all night, until 5 am, in line for a tv! It was a blast and I will do it again for sure! We ate Mcdonalds at about 2 and slept in the fabric area which is where our line was luckily! (Some were in the frozen food section! I wouldn't have stayed if that were the case) We got everything we wanted and more! A tv and lots of new movies for less than $5! And a ton of other stuff we had a cart over flowing by 5am. Everytime we would go for a walk around the store we would find more.. well I would haha! After we paid at Walmart we ran to Target to get the pans we wanted that went on sale at 5 and we luckily got the last 4 sets haha! It was a good time and I think it should be a new tradition on the Liska side!

Dodge, Duck, Dive, Dip, and Dodge

Well the annual dodgeball tournament took place the night of the "big blizzard" We didnt win this year, we actually lost to a team full of cheaters so we were pretty pissed! This year was not as fun as last year because the "team manager" yelled at us for hootin and hollerin at the other teams who were cheating! It was ridiculous! After we went to dinner at Wingers with Landon & Kayla and Jake & Jackie. It was a good time, Blake left his debit card there but luckily the waiter brought it out to us before we left! The roads were so bad it took us half an hour to get home from dinner which is literally down the road from our house!

Witches Night Out

So we have been really in to starting new traditions lately so this year we went to Witches Night Out at Gardner Village! It was insanely packed... freezing and rainy but way fun! But, I think we will be going back.. the decorations were so cute and the atmosphere was so fun! I found the quilt I want to buy when we get a home haha and I bought a super cute shirt! I really enjoyed myself! Britani and I were twins and we even saw a 2 year old that matched us so make that triplets haha! Afterwards we almost died as a truck came off the freeway and lost control due to the slick roads and someone turning in front of him hitting him. Well he fish tailed, went over the median and seriously stopped a foot away from my door! Someone had our backs that night and was watching over us! We then at at NYPD Pizza.. it was not that good and veru over priced and slow I will not go back there that's for sure!

Aloha Hawaii

So we were very spoiled and Bill and Linda took us to Hawaii as a late graduation gift! It was amazing! We are very grateful and all we can say is Mahalo! So after a very LONG flight we made it to the airport in Kona, HI it was awesome it was just a pavillion and open to the outdoors and when we unloaded we got to walk down the stairs onto the tarmac.. it was the coolest thing I have ever experienced! The only thing that would have made it better would have been getting lei'd when I got there! We had to take the long way to our hotel because the Iron Man Competition had roads closed all over the island! We got to the hotel which turned out to be a condo on the golf course it was amazing.. and huge! We loved it! Hawaii is seriously my favorite place and I want to go back in the near future! This is pretty much how our average day went.. we woke up by 7:30 and were at the pool or beach by 8 then we would catch some rays, swim, and boogy board until Bill was done with meetings. Then we went sight seeing until about 8 or 9 then we would sit in the hot tub and go to bed and start all over again! Sorry for the million pictures but I love them all! Oh and sorry they are backwards! I did not want to come home I was so sad! I wish we could have stayed for weeks! Too bad it was in the middle of the semester or I may not have gotten back on the plane! We had a red eye flight on the way home it was rough and I have never been so tired.

Well as the semester is starting Blake realized he is not going back to school and he is loving life. I however will be back in school and am not so lucky! I am fine with it though seeing as I am jobless still! This semester is supposed to be pretty rough I have research, theory, community, policy, and advanced reproduction! Just 2 more to go and I will be in Blake's shoes... which is kind of weird since I am a lifelong student! We also just had the chance to celebrate Heidi's birthday at the delicious Texas Roadhouse!

This year we slept on the parade route in Salt Lake with my family like we have for the past few years.. only this time was probably the last we all went to sleep way early yet I didn't get a wink of sleep because I was terrified for my life haha! We woke up and my mom and aunt made breakfast... which everyone was jealous of our pancakes and bacon on the parade route. Blake and I then drove to Spanish to watch the Fiesta Days parade with his family. It was great fun! Later that night we went to the rodeo.. a yearly tradition of Grandma Ruths... can I just say I love it! My favorite part was when his second cousins (I think) did the muttin bustin and the girl won over all the boys! Here are some pics... enjoy!

Oh my gosh! On our way to Flaming Gorge we stopped in Evanston to get some fireworks and this was the sign out front! We found it hilarious and had to take a picture to share! I bought Blake and got Levi for Free for Britani! I must say we had a lot of fun on our drive to and from Flaming Gorge, especially the drive home writing on papers and holding them up for my dad to read! Manila was a blast! We got to use our new tent with Levi and Brit....it is huge and fit two queen air beds with enough extra room for one more haha! We got to go fishing and Blake caught the only two fish of the weekend (I will try to get some pics from Britani)! Our campfire was the most entertaining by far though haha my Dad and cousin Tommy made up a rap and it was hilarious! Oh and we had the 2nd annual family volleyball game Liska vs Gray Family, I got kicked off our family team and had to just be a cheerleader where I belong I guess haha! The Liska Team (My Dad, Blake, and Levi) won in the end and it was quite funny! Granny and Gramps came over from Rock Springs and we had a delicious Barbeque! It was so much fun and so good to see everyone! Tessa loved me over the weekend and made me hold her by the fire until she fell asleep every night she was so cute playing with Jade and Sage! But my poor dog probably didn't think they were so cute haha they carried her everywhere and wouldn't leave her alone! I am lucky I came home with Bentlee, cause Granny wanted to take her home!

Bentlee did not like Miss Kitty at first but they have grown very close and are best friends now! They play so cute!

Bentlee likes to play with my mom's dogs Grizz and Zoe too! I wish we had a house so we could buy her a friend and give her a yard to run and play in!

I took the NCLEX on July 1st and after DAYS of waiting found out that I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm finally a Registered Nurse!

The night before I took the test Blake got off work ealy and we hung out, went to dinner, got a red box (we had to watch the Twilight series so we could go see the new one after I took the test) and just had fun! He brought me flowers and balloons! He is a sweetheart! It was good to just relax the night before!

The NCLEX was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I mean I studied a TON for two months straight everyday and I took a review course and I thought I knew my stuff! We had to take a predictor test in order to graduate from school and mine said I had a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX on my first try.
For those who do not know how NCLEX works, the minimum number of questions you are tested on is 75...the max is 265 and you have 6 hours to take the test! How many questions you get depends on how well or awful you do the computer will shut off anywhere in between these numbers, once it has decided you are "minimally competent" or "not competent" enough to be a Registered Nurse. I really wanted only 75 questions and not to be in the testing center for more than 2 hours MAX! I can’t take long tests I have no patience for them haha!

Well I usually don’t get test anxiety but this test was different it was so important! And everyone in my program was passing with 75 questions and I was a nervous wreck I didn’t want to feel stupid and be the one to get 265 questions and fail. I threw up before I left my house and I drove up to Draper to take the test nervous as can be! I have been studying and studying for the past few months and felt pretty confident walking into the testing center, I thought I could at least pass! It was time to take the stinking test and get it over with! I felt like I was being checked in to prison. They take your fingerprints, scan your palm veins, and take your picture, you also have to empty all your pockets and can’t have anything on your wrists (no watches, bracelets ect). I finally sat down at my computer and had to take some deep breaths! The first question was stressful because it determines how your test will go depending on how you answer it so I took my time. I tend to rush through tests and this time I made myself slow down! I felt like I didn’t know anything! I felt like I had never heard of anything on it! I had tons of mysterious meds and prioritizing questions and infection control and a TON of select all that apply… all of my weaknesses! It had been an hour and 15 minutes and I was on question 75, I felt like I hadn’t gotten a question right. I felt like I had to guess on every question and I didn’t know anything! My heart started beating out of my chest (I am sure of it haha), I wanted my test to end so bad pass or fail it didn’t matter to me I just wanted to be done with it! It was awful and the worst test I have ever taken! So I sat there for a few seconds took a deep breath and clicked next closed my eyes and….. BAM the test turned off I was done! I was so relieved but I seriously thought I had failed! I did not feel good about it at all. Nothing I learned in my $300 review class was on my test not one thing! I was seriously ready to cry as I walked out just because it was so stressful! I got to my car called Blake… No answer, called my mom… no answer, called Natalie… and thank goodness she answered and was able to make me feel a little better! I then headed home got myself a LARGE Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade and decided not to worry about it! But I worried anyway haha and the worst part was that I took it on a Thursday, the state doesn’t work on Friday so my name wouldn’t show up on DOPL the next night and it was a holiday weekend and the State would not be in on Monday! GRRR! I wish I wouldn’t have taken it that day haha it was horrible waiting! But, my good friend Alicia from the program sent me a trick where you go and try to register for the NCLEX again, if you passed you will get an error, I tried it and got that error! This helped me to rest easy but I didn’t really trust it, but at least I could kind of relax and have fun in Flaming Gorge for the Fourth right….. NOT!! I was so worried I kept checking to see if my quick results were ready or if by a miracle my name was on DOPL! Finally Saturday at 2 I was able to pay the 8 dollars to get my unofficial results…. I had to close my eyes went I submitted my payment info and I made everyone else leave the room! I opened my eyes and it said PASS!!! I am not going to lie I cried as lame as that is but , it was so much stress lifted off my shoulders and I am so glad to be done! Thank goodness it said pass because it would have ruined the weekend for everyone if it would have said anything different! I made Blake and my mom come look! It was the best feeling ever and I was so glad my grandparents from both sides were there to celebrate with me! Then Tuesday night my name appeared on the DOPL website with an active license and a real license number!! Now to find a job and one more year of school to get my Bachelors in Nursing!

So we went to Salina for a World Series Roping and Blake ended up winning it and $2000! (No need to come rob us all this money is long gone haha) It was awesome and I am so proud of him! He has been roping so good lately! Maybe it is the extra hours of practice the arena lights have given him! Now he is probably going to Vegas in December to rope at the World Series Finals at South Point! Lets hope he wins $100,000 there haha!

Landscaping

So Blake and I decided to put in a flower bed in our front yard and it turned out so cute we love it and so does Grandma Ruth haha! We went and got the rocks down by the river on Blake's farm and got some really good soil from the farm (aka Cow Crap haha)bought the flowers and just kind of put something together. Well I must say I had the BEST birthday ever!!! I was very spoiled and I love Blake and my family for that! I can't believe I am 24!! I am getting old haha!

Blake was seriously so sneaky this year I was impressed!

First he threw a surprise birthday dinner for me the night before my birthday! I was so burnt out because we have gone out to dinner for our friends birthdays but Blake said nobody could go because of Memorial Day and I was really sad that I had gone to all of their dinners and they couldn't come to mine so I was not expected any such surprise haha! But, I had gone up to my mom's for the day and I think he got a little worried that I wouldn't get there! But my sisters played along really well! Candice said she really wanted Brickoven... I thought she was insane wanting to drive clear to Provo for dinner but she was set on it haha we drove past Pizza Factory and she was like lets just eat there.. and me being the brat I am said THERE IS NO WAY WE DROVE CLEAR DOWN HERE FOR PIZZA FACTORY WE ARE GOING TO BRICKOVEN haha well we get to Brickoven and Britani goes in and comes out and says the wait is like 40 minutes and Candice said she was starving and couldn't wait so she talked me into going to Pizza Factory haha! Well we are walking in and one of our good friends from Snow is walking in with his girlfriend and he made up some story about being in Ephraim and just stopping there on his way home haha .. YEAH I am an IDIOT for not catching on during any of this but we walked in and there was a whole table full of my friends I was shocked that he got away with such a surprise! I am very hard to surprise haha! But it worked out that he broke his phone and needed numbers out of mine and he stole some of my friends numbers as well haha! It was great and I am officially not observant especially because I walked by like 5 trucks that were very familiar haha!

Well after dinner I went back to Salt Lake with my sisters because I didn't want to spend my birthday alone at home since Blake had to work so I spent the night at my moms. When I woke up I was brushing my teeth and my mom was like come here (she was out on the front porch) so I just ignored her and she kept telling me to come here so I went outside brushing my teeth and I was like What is so important? and she said do you notice anything... and I was like why is there some dog in our yard haha and she said that is your dog haha! Blake finally bought me a toy australian shepherd haha! She is a doll, I named her Bentlee (kind of boyish but I love them name haha). Anyway my parents had been hiding this puppy from me for a week haha! I had no idea! Blake drove to Morgan to get her when he was supposed to come to the hospital to see Caidence with us and I was so mad at him but he got back hours later and snuck Bentlee into my parents basement. Then I stayed at my moms for a couple days and my dad did such a good job of hiding her, sneaking her out while I was holding Caidence and taking her to the car show so I wouldn't see her til my birthday! Thanks guys haha! Once again Blake surprised me.. which is nearly impossible!

On my birthday we had a little family get together and ate tin foil dinners and this adorable and delicious marble cake that my aunt Tiph had made for me! Even my cousins from Layton came down... I rarely get to see them so it was such a great birthday gift in itself. But I did get lots of other great gifts too! New clothes and an awesome Wii Cheerleading game to name a few! Tessa was so tired after all the excitement of opening presents and playing that she passed out on the couch where she stayed all night haha!

Britani, Beej, and I went to Wendover to celebrate my birthday! I must say the number 16 (Blake and I's wedding anniversary) has treated me well on the Roulette Table haha! I won a pretty good amount of money... like $280 and Brit won like $80 I think and Beej lost but thats okay haha cause here is my Black chip I felt pretty cool haha!

Our New Niece...Caidence Bailey

One Year Anniversary!!

Well we made it a year!! I can't believe it has been a year all ready it has flown by!! Blake and I have definitely had our ups and downs but I am so glad I married him! He is the best hubby in the whole world and is always so much fun and can put a smile on my face no matter what! He may rope more than necessary but I love him anyway! I can't wait for the many years to come because I love him more every single day!

Blake started off our weekend by bringing me roses! He is a sweetheart!

We then opened our gifts early because some of our gifts were very useful for the weekend...

I gave Blake an iPod Touch which will be mine too haha and a couple really cute shirts and ties for his new job!

He gave me a pair of capris, my pink luggage for our Hawaii trip in October haha, my cowboy boots so I can stop wearing flops to rodeos haha, a cute shirt, a fishing pole-its not a Barbie one but a big girl pink pole haha, and he had Grandma Ruth help him finish the girly John Deere quilt I started but could never finish because I have been so busy with school! This is why I love him because he thinks of cute stuff like that to do for me!

After opening way too many gifts, we spoiled each other as usual, we loaded some music on Blake's new iPod and packed our bags to head to Vegas! We stayed at South Point our FAVORITE hotel in Vegas and had a blast just being lazy by the pool and spending time together without having to worry about homework or anything haha! The best part was that we won enough money playing my favorite game Roulette to pay for all of our food and fun all weekend! And it was so random but a bunch of cowboys from Spanish were down there for a rodeo and staying at South Point too but it was pretty fun to see them all at the pool. And I am proud to say Blake refrained from going to the rodeo haha!

We didn't really go on the strip because we figured we would be back in December to do that haha but we did go to the new city center. And Blake went to Tiffany's and bought me another gift... haha NOT!!

Neither of us had ever been to the Bass Pro Shop or the Silverton Lodge so we decided to go walk around it and I must say it was pretty awesome! Blake took a picture with the moose he wishes he would have shot! And with his favorite animal.. a "GERF" bahaha aka a giraffe to those of us who can read! Sorry honey it will never get old!

We went to Outback for dinner and I must say I wish we would have eaten Weinerschnitzel like we did on our wedding day because it would have been much better then the food we got from Outback! And of course we ate the top layer of our cake! It was not that great but not as bad as I thought it would be...it actually tasted the same as I rememebr it on our wedding day!

Well thats how we spent our first wedding anniversary! It was a blast and I love my hubby so much!

Blake's Graduation

Blake also graduated from UVU! He graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Business Management! I am SO proud of him for making it through his capstone and passing all his classes while working to support me and still finding plenty of time to rope! Blake is now working at the Orem branch of Capital Community. We are sad he will no longer be at Salem especially because I can't come visit and the people at Salem are way fun but, we can't complain when more money is involved haha!

Nursing Pinning Ceremony

I am done with finals and all of the required classes to graduate with my Associates Degree in Nursing and get my RN license this summer! After I take the dreaded NCLEX that is! But, I am going to work my little butt off studying and hopefully it will pay off!

We had our pinning ceremony on Thursday night and it was great! It is a nursing tradition to get pinned by another RN, it is sort of like passing the torch! I am so glad to be done with all of these classes but I am sad because some of the people from my class will not be returning in the Fall to continue on for a Bachelors. It is amazing how close we have become over the past 2 years and I am going to miss those who don't come back! Thank you all for your support throughout the program! I don't know what I would have done without my loving family, friends, teachers, and fellow nursing students.

Cowboy Take Me Away....

So the past couple weekends Blake had his last two college rodeos! We are sort of sad that there are no more college rodeos for us but excited to go to some jackpots this summer with some of our friends (Landon and Kayla that means you)!! Somtimes I complain about being married to a team roper but it really is so much fun!

UVU RODEO
UVU held their rodeo in Heber City! It was a fun time! My mom went up with me on Thursday night for the Region Rodeo and Blake's whole family was there so that was a good time. After we ate at The Train which was delicious! And Miss Gracie was so cute yelling at Thomas the Train and the Truck as they went by on the tracks haha! There they are... hahaha Blake and Brad didn't do any good but it was still fun! Saturday morning they were up in the Slack so I rode up with Linda to watch... once again no good.. so we headed home so the guys could rope and I did Leslie's hair for prom. After Leslie left in her limo for the dance we headed up to the high school to watch her promenade.. after Blake, Brad, and I quickly headed up to Heber for the last night of rodeo. They announced the team and gave all the seniors a Quillow..which I love by the way haha!

We went to Twin Falls for 4 long days haha! The trip started out quite eventful seeing as the semi broke down with all the horses in it, but they got up and going in no time and made it in time for the rodeo! Thursday was the region rodeo and we had some more bad luck. It was a late night but once we got checked in to the hotel we all hit our pillows and died! Slack was the next morning and of course we were there haha! Afterwards we went to lunch at Sizzler.. it was delicious! After that we went to Vicker's Western Wear and I finally got some boots... they are pretty cute! We then headed back to the fairgrounds for the performance where once again bad luck! After the rodeo we went to Outback with the team it was so much fun! Then we headed back to the hotel where we played cards.. and I took all those cowboys money haha! It was great! The next morning we had some free time so we went shopping with Linda, Karla, Grandma Pat, Brayden, Brad, Jake, and Alyssa! We went to lunch at Chili's with Brayden's roommate and the family he lives with. It was fun after that Brayden took us on a scenic tour of the gorge and we had to stop and take pictures by the waterfall. After that we sat in the hot tub and hung out in the hotel where I introduced Linda, Karla, Grandma Pat, and Brad to the delicious snack of Teddy Grahams and Marshmallow Creme!! We then headed back to the rodeo for one last night of fun! UVU's Mens Team ended up second in the Region which is good! After the rodeo we went to dinner at IHOP with the team plus Brayden. I really enjoyed hanging out with Brayden since we never get to see him and it was a fun trip but I was way past ready to be home especially since I had a final Monday morning!

Easter Weekend!

Friday I went up North to dye some eggs with Tessa! She got a swimming suit from Mema and wanted to go swimming but there was snow outside so she decided playing in the snow in her new suit would suffice haha!
We needed a vacay so Saturday we headed to St. George with our friends Jake and Alyssa to escape from the snow and find some warm weather!! And that is exactly what we did! We did a lot of eating and shopping two of my favorite things we had Texas Roadhouse and frozen Custard! We played by the pool it was overcast but still super warm! We went mini golfing, I am pretty sure I won but Blake and Jake didn't have enough fingers to tally the scores haha! It was a short trip but still very fun! Also, very relaxing after a stressful few weeks! Sunday we went over to Blake's parents for a bit then headed up to my parents! It was a fun weekend I just wish our trip to St. George was longer!

It has been a stressful few weeks with clinicals, job interviews, studying, and writing papers! And on top of it all I decided that I am going to coach cheer @ ALA in Spanish Fork with my good friend Michelle from Snow! It has been stressful and I am not even doing much I feel bad for Michelle haha! It is going to be a fun year but we have our work cut out for us!

The biggest thing I have been studying for is the Exit Exam, I have spent hours and hours doing practice questions. My new favorite spot to do so is on a blanket in my front yard! And yesterday Grandma Ruth made my day and brought me out some lemon wonder to fuel my brain! She is just a sweetheart! Anyway, I finally took the test today, the last day of course haha and I must say I was shocked by my results! First of all, I think I experienced test anxiety for the first time in my life today! I am not a person who gets anxiety over tests but today I was having a nervous breakdown! I had to go get myself a Strawberry Limeade @ Sonic to see if it would help and even that didn't help calm my nerves haha! I walked in the testing center literally shaking haha! Then I had been flying through the test, I mean the time limit was 3 hours and I was well over half way done in an hour so I thought I was going to fail. I said to myself "SLOW DOWN! You still have 2 hours, read the questions you fool, you are going to fail!" So I slowed down and took my time on the rest of the questions! And I must say I am very proud of myself!My Total Score was 85.3% which means my Predicted Probability of Passing NCLEX-RN® on the First Attempt is 99%!! WAHOOOO! I was literally in shock when my results appeared on the computer screen I had to re-read it like 5 times before I believed it! Then I probably had a grin from ear to ear as I walked out the workers at the testing center probably thought I was a freak! I looked at my results page and the ones I missed were ones I knew I guessed on so I am feeling good! I think I might be able to pass the NCLEX and make a decent nurse now!

Now I just have to keep studying and it will all work out!
Blake and I are going to escape to St George on Saturday to get a little R & R before the last few weeks of school! Can't Wait!

Blake's Birthday... A Quarter Century Old!!

Blake turned 25 on March 24th! He was having a rough time with the fact that he is half way to 50, I wasn't much help calling him an old man all day haha!
SUNDAY
We celebrated Blake's birthday at my mom and dads. I had clinical until 7 that day so my favorite person ever, Brayden Petersen, drove Blake up to Salt Lake on his way back to CSI so that he could come hang with my family and drive me home! We had BBQ Weiners and Burgers and some delicious cake! The Clark's and MerMer were there and of course Candi and Troy and my favorite little Tessa! It was a good time!
WEDNESDAY
On his actual birthday I had my last day of clinicals at the NICU at Primary's! It was a sad but happy day! I was so excited to be done so I could focus on studying for NCLEX, but so sad because I really ended up loving my nurse and having such an amazing experience! Anyway, I wasn't home until about 6ish that night, which was fine because Blake had school and work! When I got home we went to Bill and Linda's and of course Blake roped since it was nice outside and Linda went and got carryout from T-bone for dinner, which is a Chinese restaurant in Springville. But, my amazing mother-in-law got me a pizza since I hate Chinese food, you would think it was my birthday or something haha! After dinner Blake opened his presents and he got spoiled of course! He got about 5 new t-shirts, a new dress shirt, 2 new pairs of jeans, 2 new Wii Wii games, new spurs, a wallet, and his favorite horse "Oreo" back from my dad! (If you don't know that story I will have to post about it another day haha) We then had Candy Bar Cake aka Better then Sex or Anything cake which was delicious! After that we came home and played Just Dance for a bit then attempted to watch The Blindside but we were way too tired so we went to bed!
SATURDAY
We had a busy day on Saturday! We woke up and went to the temple with Bill and Linda. Then I went to Salt Lake to pick up Blake's cake and since I was there I went to craft class and made some way cute Spring decorations for my home! And Blake stayed home and roped and helped out on the Farm.
Then that night we went to Los Hermanos with a bunch of Blake's friends. It was way too much fun! However I was oohing and ahhing over little Brynlee the entire time haha so I probably missed out on a lot of the fun! After dinner we went to Landon and Kayla's house, they have a gorgeous big house and were so nice to let us all come hang out there, especially since we live in a shack compared to them haha! (Thanks again for letting us all come play at your house!)

We had the most delicious and cutest cake ever! My Aunt Tiphanie had a Quarter Cake made for him because he is a quarter of a century old! It turned out so cute and it was so delicious! It was Blake's favorite... marble cake! I was so impressed with how good it turned out that I didn't want to cut into it! But everyone made me so I did and I destroyed it, I can't cut cakes anymore I am fired!
After eating all that cake us girls decided we needed to play some Just Dance on the Wii! It was so fun, I was laughing so hard I couldn't even dance haha! Well, of course the boys were at the table playing cards and were making fun of us... until we talked them into dancing then they had to play like 3 songs haha! It was a riot watching them I literally about wet myself! It was a blast and I hope we will do it more often!
Birthdays are my new favorite because we get to hang out with our whole group of friends! I just wished we would do it more often, because it is always way too much fun!

A few weeks ago a few of us old Badger Cheerleaders got together for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory! It was so fun to see everyone and catch up, I just wish more of us could have made it! But, it was still a blast with just our little group!!
It made me realize how much I really miss E-town and cheering! I love all of the experiences and friendships I gained while at Snow! I wouldn't change those 2 (and a half) years for anything! I hope I will continue to stay in touch and be friends with all of you! I love you guys, thanks for all of the great memories in Ephraim!!

Our first married Valentine's Day!

My gorgeous pink gerbs! Love them and love my hubby! Us at Ruby River... our steaks were very tasty! Waiting in line for Valentine's Day! We were the first ones there but the line grew quickly! Our Gifts, we had a great Valentine's!

We spent Friday night with my family, it was very fun! I just adore Tessa she is so much fun! My mom also helped me finish my shopping and helped me sew cute my apron! I love her!

I must say this was the BEST Valentine's Day that we have ever had! At first I thought it may be disastrous like the past two especially since Blake went roping with Bill in Ogden! I thought for sure they wouldn't get home until late.. . but since there was nothing I could do about it I went to lunch and the mall with Linda and Leslie! It was fun Leslie and I got our makeup done and I got a cute shirt and some new heels! Well amazingly Blake and Bill got home around 4 and we were able to do everything we had planned plus more (like do Leslie's hair)!

The night started with Blake bringing me a vase of my favorite flowers.. pink Gerbs! Then we headed to the Beck's so I could curl Leslie's hair for her sweethearts dance. We were smart and called Ruby River on our way and we had about 45 minutes to do her hair and be ready to go.. well somehow it only took 30 minutes, which is super fast considering her thick hair that I am very jealous of by the way haha! Well we made it up to Ruby River and only had to wait like 15 minutes for a table and we were in and out by 6:30!

We then went to Maverick and stuffed my purse with treats for the movie! We were the first ones in line so we got the best seats in the house! Blake went and bought a $4 deck of cards to keep us entertained while we waited for an hour for Valentine's Day to start, he beat me in every game we played it was ridiculous but made the time go by quick! My friend Holly from the nursing program was there and sat with us during the movie it was a blast! And, it was such a funny movie, we loved it! I was a little worried with all those stars and all the different stories going on, but they tied it all together nicely!

After the movie we came home and opened our gifts! Blake got: A new shirt, 3 ties, some Valentine's boxers, and a new rope, silky sheets and heating blanket for our bed (this was partly my gift too)!!! I got: A tanning pass, a new shirt and skirt, another shirt, and my heels!

On Valentine's morning I made pink chocolate-chip pancakes in heart shapes, they were delicious!! After church we went down to Bill and Linda's and just hung out and Casey and Kayley came down with Brynlee she is such a doll I just held her for like 3 hours haha!

I came home and prepared my Valentine's surprise for Blake! I made a heart shaped pizza for dinner with some sparkling grape juice! Then for dessert we had fondue! It was fun! I also had rose petals and candles lit and put heart sticky notes all over our house with reasons why I love him!

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day and I am very grateful for my wonderful husband and the 9 months we have been married!! I love him more than anything and can't wait until we are done with school and can just have fun and enjoy life!!

On Friday we went to dinner and a movie with Jentry, Jourdyn, Landon, and Kayla! I lvoe these friends and I love going out with them because no matter what you are bound to laugh! We went to Wingers for dinner and I got my favorite free "ass"phalt pie.. only Blake forgot our coupon so it wasn't free! Dinner was fun and I was very impressed with Kayla's cat like reflexes when Landon spilt his drink! Our dinner was taking forever so Jourdyn went and switched our tickets so we would be able to get good seats for Dear John. Well this lead to an hour of sitting in line but I won't lie it was pretty fun! The boys pretended to love it.. oh wait no they didn't but that is okay haha!

I can't say I loved the movie.. I was very disappointed actually... I was expecting another Notebook! I still can't believe the girls behind us sobbing it was hilarious good thing they brought a whole box of tissues!! But here are some pics from our fun wait in line....

This is a very old pic but I just had to blog about this because Landon makes fun of Kayla and me for blogging so I thought I would blog about something Blake and Landon both love and know is true. And since Blake told me Landon kept saying "why don't we blog about it" at the ropin I thought I would do so haha!!
Anyway, Blake went to a roping on Saturday.. and was second call to win $900 but he had some bad luck and I can't tell you how many times I have heard....

If only that steer wouldn't have stopped...

If only my heeler wouldn't have broken out then I would have caught...

Another Birthday Dinner!

On Friday we went out to dinner at Olive Garden for Kayla's birthday! All I have to say is I could get used to going out for birthday dinners every weekend! It was fun even though we were an hour late (sorry again Kayla), because I was at State Drill watching Leslie! After dinner we drove up to Salt Lake to stay at my mom and dad's. Saturday morning we took my Honda in to get fixed (if you didn't know I got hit while I was parked in Walmart's parking lot) and I got an awesome G6 with remote start as my rental.. but then we noticed the plates had been expired since OCTOBER!! So we had to go up to the airport on Sunday morning and trade it.. and the jerks gave us a dirty car... and by dirty I mean it still had the people before us's garbage in it!! What kind of service is that... if you went to dinner and got a raw steak they wouldn't bring you someone's half eaten steak or if you went to a hotel and wanted to switch rooms they wouldn't put you in a dirty room! I am still so mad and will probably never rent a car from Enterprise! It's a glad thing I am not paying for it or I would be extremely mad! But I wish I would have just kept the expired plate car because it was a 1000 times nicer then the one we have now!! OH WELL! I just can't wait to get my own car back on Friday!

The costs of becoming an RN.....

Applying for the Program and taking the TEAS test and getting all of the required immunizations and CPR and TB tests.. close to $500! Ugly UVU Green Scrubs for clinicals and other supplies like my stethoscope and BP cuff $300 at least. Tuition for just my Nursing classes so far (not including the many semesters of prereqs and other classes) $8000. Books I don't even know or want to know but my guess is at least $2000! Every EXAM I had to take for every class $3 each test! Applying for graduation $20! Taking the REQUIRED Exit Exam $55!Licensing with the State $300! NCLEX PREP BOOKS $200, and if I need an NCLEX PREP Class like KAPLAN $500! Taking the NCLEX $200! .... Oh don't let me forget all of the time and stress studying and trying to cram all of the info into my little brain! And last but not least being a Guinea Pig for the new UVU program and not getting the education that is deserved for that kind of money!!
LET's JUST HOPE BEING A RN IS PRICELESS!!!

It's a glad thing I have wonderful grandparents who have paid for it all.. I don't think I would have been able to otherwise!!

Back to School!

Unfortunately we have started school again! The good news is we only have 14 more weeks haha! It is going to be a busy semester, especially for Blake he has his capstone and is already overwhelmed, I feel bad especially since he has to be a working man everyday! My goal is to find a job to help with our $$ stress a little bit! My semester does not seem that bad compared to the last one at least! I am just nervous for my preceptorship in the NICU, oh and the NCLEX of course! My goal is to study for it everyday for at least an hour, I just ordered 6 review books so hopefully those will help. My other goal is to exercise for an hour everyday before I study, whether it is doing Wii Fit or Turbo Jam!
Well wish us luck that we will make it through the semester and that we will pass everything we need to!!

That's right Candice found out she is having a little girl, Cadence Bailee.. around May 25th.. but cross your fingers that she will stay in until the 28th so she can share my birthday! Candice just told me yesterday that Tessa said that the baby can't come yet cause "she is still cookin" haha I about peed my pants when she told me that.. I swear that girl is so stinkin funny! Blake and I are very excited to have another cute little niece to play with because Tessa and Gracie are so much fun! Let's hope some day that Britani or I will add some testosterone to the Liska side of the family!

Christmas Break

After our last day of studying all day at the library we took our last finals and the fun began! Well, we weren't completely stress free until we got our grades.. but Blake did very well (a lot better then we expected haha) and what is it called when you get A's in all your classes?? Oh yeah a 4.0 I got one of those haha! It was so nice to finally be done with finals and actually spend time together not doing homework or studying for tests! We have also had the chance to just hang out with our friends and actually go out and go to movies!

To start out the break we had a Christmas party with some girls in my nursing program! It was a very good time and it was nice to hang out and have fun with the girls and not be so worried about our classes! Even our favorite teacher Mina came! Our second Christmas party was at the Grandma and Grandpa Beck's house, I don't have a picture I should have stolen one from Linda! Santa and Mrs. Claus came to see everyone and we asked him for a new horse trailer for Blake and for me to pass the NCLEX in May haha! It was really fun we had a pasta/pizza bar which was delicious!

We started a new family tradition with my family of going to the Zoo lights it was so fun even though it was freezing! We probably had 6 cups of hot chocolate were quite sick of it by the time we left but I have a cute cup to show for it! We rode the Merry-go-round with Tessa it was her first time on one and she loved it! Blake rode the Gerff like it was a buckin bronc!

Blake and I took a drive to Moroni to get a Sweetheart Turkey for my mom and Linda!It was fun to drive back down to Sanpete county and just spend time with Blake we drove the entire way there and back to Salt Lake without the radio, we didn't even notice until we got to my mom's house haha! It was really fun and that night we were going to go to the Sing-a-long at the Energy Solutions Arena, we went to ride Trax and we couldn't get on because they were all so full, we finally got on the Southbound train just so Tessa could ride the train! It was fun because this cute Polynesian family got on and started singing Christmas Carols and everyone joined in (Britani and I were not very good at singing haha). I can't say the next 24 hours were very fun though I was deathly ill and spent the night on the bathroom floor it was rotten!

On Christmas Eve we went to my mom's house it was fun to hang out with my family and the sweetheart turkey was so good! We opened all our gifts from my mom and dad that night and were very surprised when we got a Wii. We have had a blast playing it since, especially Wii fit! Christmas morning we woke up and opened our gifts to each other and we had a very good Christmas probably too good considering how poor we are! After we got ready we went to Blake's mom and dad's to open gifts it was fun to watch Gracie open her presents from Santa! Then we went to Grandma Ruth's for lunch and to open our gift from her! After that we headed to Wyoming to see my grandparents! We have not gone up there for Christmas in years so it was really fun! We also went to see my Great Grandma at "Wrinkle City" as Gramps calls it, which was good since she is not doing the greatest!

New Year's Eve was very uneventful! First we went to dinner with the Beck's at Pizza Factory!Gracie didn't even make it through dinner before falling asleep! Then we headed up to Salt Lake to hang out with my family! Tessa and I made brownies in my Perfect Brownie Maker, they were tasty as you can tell by Tessa's face! Then we played the Wii and at midnight my dad and his friend Jerry lit fireworks it was a good time! We have also had the chance to do some things around the house which has been nice!Now it is almost time for school to start again and we are dreading it! But overall I would have to say we had a wonderful Christmas break!

I apologize for this enormous post! I realized I haven’t posted anything on here since Blake and I got engaged... over a year ago! So obviously we have been up to a lot since then an I thought I would just post a review of the past year! Then my New Year’s resolution is going to be to stay on top of it haha!

The Wedding
Planning our wedding was sure a lot of fun going to school at the same time.. NOT! It is a good thing we had 6 months to do it in! We got married on May 16, 2009! Everything turned out so good... besides a few bumps like my whole family being stuck in traffic for hours and forgetting the shoes for bridesmaids and the music for our video not working! But it turned out so pretty and I loved the way the colors ended up even though I changed my mind 37 times! We went on our honeymoon to Cali it was super fun! We went to a Dodger’s game, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the beach! It was a blast!

Candice is expecting baby #2, she should find out gender on Christmas eve! I can't wait I am hoping for a little nephew! Blake and I are gonna have to be having a baby soon so that our kids aren't 20 years younger than all the cousins! But I don't want kids until I am done with school!

Britani is doing great she is dating a great guy named Levi he is so good to her and we just love him! She will be going to UVU next semester and will probably graduate with me that should be fun!

Brad is moving in next door to us and will be going to UVU and rodeoing with Blake this spring!

TJ left on his mish in February, we miss him a lot! The poor kid has had a rough month or so. He tore all the ligaments in his ankle playing basketball and has had a cast! I feel bad but he is doing great now! I can’t wait for him to get back he is a hoot!

Leslie is on drill again and just loving her high school days! She is too cute for her own good!

Our nieces Tessa and Gracie are getting so big and so cute! Tessa just turned 3 and is a hoot and can have whole conversations with you now, and she says some of the funniest things haha! Last week she looked in Brit’s purse and said “there is a lot of shit in here” I about died when my mom told me that! She is so fun but such a terd! Gracie is almost 2! She can finally say Blake, but she still likes Branny better! She is talking a lot and is so funny also! If you ask her where some one is she looks around and then says “there he is” haha its adorable!

School

We have just been super busy with school! I don’t even have time to clean our house or cook dinner haha! But now that I am done my house is spotless again yay!! Blake should graduate this spring, cross your fingers with me! And I will be able to license this summer…yay!! I am hoping I will be able to get a job at Primary Children's! Then I will finish out my bachelor's for another year! I am so glad that this semester is over it has been so stressful! But, next semester is going to be so fun I am doing my preceptorship at Primary Children’s in the NICU, I am so excited!

Rodeo

This rodeo and country business is rubbin off on me Blake has managed to get me on the horses a little more but I still don’t love it by any means. I actually roped a real live calf! It was pretty exciting I am still in shock that I actually caught him haha but Blake missed it, I was so mad haha! I wish I had a picture for proof cause that is never happening again! UVU rodeo has been so fun! Blake made it to the CNFR in Casper last summer it was a blast to watch him there! Blake had a good fall rodeo season just a little bad luck on the heeling end but rodeo starts up again this spring and I think it will be good! Blake is roping with his brother Brad so I hope they do well! And our good friend Jake is getting married so we will have some married friends to share a room with haha! Last December we were able to go to the NFR in Vegas with Blake’s family, it was my first time and it was AWESOME. We sat on the very top row of the Thomas and Mack Center but it was still a blast! I acted like a 12 year old when I got to meet my absolute favorite bull rider... don't tell Blake but I think I am in love haha not really but he is very good looking! We went again this year it was so much fun and we got to sit a lot closer! It was fun to see all the guys from Spanish Fork area doing so well! We went and watched Casey Fields get his gold buckle that was pretty sweet and Steve Woolsey offered to buy Blake and I a drink! Who knew I’d have bull riders wanting to buy me drinks haha if only I were single! Just Joking!!

Well I think that is the past year in a nutshell! I am going to get a lot better at this I swear haha! For now we are enjoying our break from school and are super excited for our first Christmas together! I finally have all of our decorations up now I just need to finish shopping! I will try to get some pictures on here soon too!

We're Engaged!!

We got engaged on November 19!! Blake is such a creative little bugger.. He sent me a text around noon that day and told me he got his thumb stuck in his dally roping (for those of you who do not understand cowboy terms it means he got his thumb stuck in his rope which can give you a bad rope burn or even completely cut your thumb off) so if course I thought it was the worse case scenario because he wouldn't text me that unless it was pretty bad, and he said he was heading to the emergency room so I figured it was really bad. I was stuck at the American Fork Hospital doing clinicals for school and I could not leave so I just had to worry about him all day except for the few texts I got saying it was broken, needed a pin, and needed stitches( according to Blake only 7). I went to visit him when I got done with school and he had his thumb all wrapped up and he looked rotten to be honest haha, his mommy had bought him get well balloons and brought him some cold stone ice cream, so ya know I was pretty convinced it was the real deal. He even had a story for everything and his whole family played it out so well! Then his dad was like "well Brandi you're a nurse why don't you unwrap it so we can all see it!" I hesitated because the last time I saw someone's blood I knew I passed out haha but they talked me into and I got about half way and I had to sit down because I was getting lightheaded and felt like I was going down, then they all made fun of me and said "how are you going to be a nurse" so I sucked it up and finished unwrapping it and there was this silver round thing on his thumb and no blood so I was super confused and just stared at his thumb for a little bit, I thought they had some new advanced pin they used and that either they cleaned up really well or the dirty mess must be on the other side. so I turned his hand over and the ring that I really wanted was the silver thing I thought was a pin haha!!! It was great I had no idea it was even coming and I was completely oblivious to the fact his little sister was recording me with her phone but she got a text and it ruined it, which I am a little upset because I can't even imagine how dumb I looked haha!! But I am super excited to be Mrs. Blake Beck and as of now the wedding day is May 1 but we aren't really sure yet!! I just decided after lookin at my friend Lindy's blog that I would make one and that this would be the perfect first post!
